Kelsey was born and raised in Louisa, Kentucky, and is proud of her eastern Kentucky roots.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in journalism. While at UK, Kelsey was a staff writer for the Kentucky Kernel. She was recognized for her writing skills by receiving the Joe Quinn Prize in Journalism and an Excellence in Writing Award from the Kentucky Press Association.
Kelsey continued her education at the University of Kentucky College of Law, graduating in 2015. While attending law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board, Trial Advocacy Board, Women’s Law Caucus and Appalachian Law Caucus. Kelsey was awarded the Best Brief in her Legal Writing Club and the CALI Award in Civil Pretrial Practice.
She practiced law in eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia for two years before relocating to Louisville and joining Sheffer Law Firm in the fall of 2017. Kelsey’s practice areas include products liability, nursing home defense, premises liability, personal injury and medical malpractice.
She resides in Louisville with her beloved dogs, Ava and Beau. Kelsey is an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching and playing sports, and challenging herself in the gym.
